Hellen Lukoma dishes her beauty and hair secrets.

By  |

Hellen is a true style icon. A daring one indeed. The one Ugandan woman I’ve seen looking every bit sassy in  lace see through dress. Well she knows how to get dressed and look dashing. The actress talked to us about her beauty secrets and how she manages to keep her face unblemished and flawless.

You look amazing. How do you keep your skin glowing and flawless all the time?

My techniques are quite basic. I do not sleep with makeup. It’s one thing that messes up the skin. I also try to buy genuine products. The make up I wear is always minimal and you must have noticed this. I also drink a lot of water, smile a lot and keep away from alcohol.

That seems so easy to pull off. Don’t you try out something that you haven’t mentioned?

I know, it does sound basic but that is it. I however moisturize often and watch what I eat. I don’t remember going beyond that.

Do you remember having bad skin in the past? How did you deal with it?

Uhmmm I’ve had really bad skin before. It was then when I was growing up. I guess every girl goes through this time. How I dealt with it? I kept to my normal beauty routine. It’s always important not to complicate things by using complicated products during such situations.

So what tips do you give women who would love to have and maintain such flawless skin?

Watch what you eat first of all. All those calories you swallow if they do not get burnt definitely they all end up messing up your skin. Tone down on the alcohol and replace it with lots of  water. Your body needs to breath. Talking about breathing, let the skin breath as well by toning down on make up. Wear it only when you should. Probably on a Sunday, let it out without make up. Also ensure to have enough sleep. It does magic.

Hellen’s signature hairdo.

I’ve always wanted to ask you. Is the curly hairdo your signature look? You switch to all styles but still end up doing it again.

Ohh it is one hair style that I’m most comfortable with. It flatters my face structure and I know that it makes me beautiful. Every woman should learn where their comfort zone is. It is one way of hiding the many flaws we have. You probably know the hairdresser of the style best or it even has a lucky charm. It all depends on you. That hairdo is my comfort zone.

Do you mind sharing what you carry in your hand bag.

I always have lip gloss, lotion, synthesizer and tissue and . These are a must have before I leave the house.
