Meet Jay Rwanda, The ‘Hot’ Rwandan Model Who Just Signed With Joram Model Management

Early this week, social media was on fire after news broke that Rwanda’s top model Jay Rwanda had signed with Joram Model Management. The excitement was cause by pictures of the model that had many ladies swooning and drooling at the same time. Well, we caught up with the model to get to know a little bit about him.
What’s your real name?
My real name is “Jean de Dieu Ntabanganyimana“. But most people know me as Jay Rwanda.
What is the most exciting thing about being a model?
The opportunity to meet different people with different profiles.
How were you discovered?
I got discovered on Instagram!
When did it occur to you that you were meant to be in this business?
That was in 2015 when I started making money from modeling. Commercial jobs and fashion shows were coming in. It was all becoming serious and fun.
What are some of the most memorable projects you’ve worked on?
RwandAir Commercials, KCB Commercials, Men’s Fashion Week Nigeria, ASFA2016, Collective Rw Fashion Week, Kigali Fashion Week and many more.
How is the modeling industry in Rwanda as compared to that here in Kampala?
The modeling industry in Rwanda is not big as in Uganda but it is growing. However, both countries have very passionate and hardworking models. How do you feel about joining Joram Model Management?
It’s very exciting to be represented by the Best East African Model Management JMM. With JMM I hope to reach far and it’s like an open door for all good opportunities ahead in my career.

What do you do for fun?
Working out in the Gym, dancing and playing basketball

What was your childhood life like?
It was really fun, grew up in a Christian family. I was taught to pray, so I’m a very spiritual person. I also love people and I’m humble. I played a lot of basketball as well. During holidays, I would play with a local team. I loved to dance a lot too as a child. My childhood was fun.  I never thought I would end up as a model.

Are you single?
Nah I have a girlfriend.
What’s the hardest thing about being single?
I guess it’s the loneliness
