Miriam Tamar. The YouTube sensation you didn’t know about

By  |

She’s an American pop singer based in Uganda. She took social scene by storm last year when her  duet with rapper Big Tril So High became a hit on local TV. She doubles all that with being GNL Zamba’s better half if it’s well put. Miriam is now a You Tube sensation with an enviable viewership of 83,000.

Flipping through her channel you will notice that all her videos are covers of popular songs done with the with help of Sabar Percussion band Uganda. The feel is very original and the out door setting makes Uganda even more beautiful. It’s no surprise that her videos have become hits online.

YouTube is behind the success of many stars such as Justin Bieber and many more. The video sharing site only helps singers get discovered bu models, dancers, actors and athletics.

Miriam’s most viewed video is the cover of Katy Perry’s song Unconditionally which has garnered 33,000 views. This is one of those videos that will make you feel better as a Ugandan. My favorite video is a mashup of Ellie Goulding’s I need your love and Ice Prince’s Oleku. Check it out below and marvel away.
