Shuba Design House makes a splash at the Fashion Reunion party
The fashion re -union party will have us talking for a very long time. Kudos to Flash and her team for putting together some of the most creative people in the industry. These little known designers put up a show that many established designers take years to perfect. Shuba design House managed by a young creative designer fresh from Latif’s design school in Kawempe was the best designer of the night. This boy is the definition of creative and he evoked every bit of this while presenting his collection. He showcased trendy blazers, printed dresses, printed bags and harem pants. His was a youthful African meets trendy modern collection. We should change our mindsets and support these young creative designers.
His show was some what orgasmic (metaphorically) thanks to the mood he set. A Mafikizholo song was playing as models strutted on and off the runway. The idea of opening the show with a great model was genius. The model literally floated on the runway. It was evident that a spectacular show had opened.
His show was not void of famous faces. He tapped the walking power of models Jay Sewa and Nelly Brown. These left the audience melting with excitement. The essence of putting famous faces on the runway is not only because they know best how to work it but also because they bring excitement to the show. Designers in Europe and the US pay hefty amounts to have names such as Cara Delevigne, Liu Wen, Armando Cabral and Karlie Kloss walk during their shows because they want to have buzz and excitement on their shows. Shuba did the same and it surely left a mark.
The great designs. I loved the printed dresses with the matching bags and purses.
His blazers and harem pants made a statement too. This is what all fashion forward men should be wearing.
Let us support our own local talent and buy their designs. These designs are modern youthful and trendy. Shuba also dresses Mozey Radio and Weasel and Jose Chameleon among other celebrities. His show was entertaining and kept the audience on their feet. I hope this show will be translated into more people running to get dressed by Shuba.
