Trending: The floating catwalk

By  |

While here in Kampala organising fashion shows in night clubs is still a staple, our counterparts in Paris are going all out to make fashion shows more extra ordinary. Forget the escalator show by Louis Vuitton and Chanel’s rain forest, J Spring presented their show on water. Call this the Paris Floating catwalk.

The highly anticipated J Spring Fashion Show created an illusion of models walking on water by having guests seated facing the multifaceted glass windows of Le Jean Bruel and watch the presentation in front of them while the boat was cruising. As a result, architectural wonders such as Eiffel Tower, Notre Dame, the Louvre and the 37 famous bridges became the natural moving backdrop. Similar to Jessica’s previous international success on England’s iconic London’s Tower Bridge and the world’s tallest PETRONAS Twin Towers’ Skybridge, the show presented an exquisite combination of Haute Couture and Prêt-à-Porter collections from 4 continents.

Guests were treated to this floating magical experience. Fashion shows are meant to be entertaining and mind blowing. It is the only way a designer gets massive PR after his or her show. It is quite evident that this is far from happening in Uganda but we can work on our shows. Attention to every little detail from lighting to decor and the setting make the show spectacular.

This is another image from a show that had models floating on water. This surely is going to become the new show room in the future. The beauty this water brings to the show is beyond it.
